Strawberry Picking Log ---
12/12/2006 - Strawberries are very large, sweet and plentiful.

Drive very slow when on the Research Center's Property!!!

Sallys Strawberry Bread
1. 3 cups flour _________ 6. 4 eggs
2. 1 tsp. baking soda ____ 7. 1/2 cup oil
3. 1 tsp. salt ___________ 8. 1 tsp vanilla
4. 1 tsp. cinnamon _______ 9. 2/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)
5. 2 cups sugar _________ 10. 2 cups fresh coursely chopped strawberries

Blend in order listed
Bake in loaf pans 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes

Strawberry Jello Dessert

1. 6 ounce pk strawberry jello _ _5. 1 cup cold water
2. 8 oz cool whip _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 6. 2 tablespoon sugar (optional)
3. 1 quart strawberry sliced _ _ _7. 18 graham crackers
4. 2 cups hot water

line bottom of pan with 1/2 graham crackers
referigerate jello until almost firm, blend with cold whip at low speed
add strawberry slices
pour 1/2 over graham crackers repeat layers
mix jello with hot water and cold water

Strawberry Daiquiri

1. Frozen lemonade concentrate - 12 oz. - might want to try pink lemonade or grapefruit
2. 12 oz. of Rum - might want to try Vodka
3. 8 to 16 oz. of strawberries

Blend all ingredents and store in freezer.
When ready for a drink, pour equal amount of mix over crushed ice and blend - creating a frozen Daiquiri!

Strawberry Cookies

Ingredients:
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 tsp of almond extract
• 2 cups of flour
• 1 cup of strawberries, washed and chopped or mashed
• 1/2 tsp of baking powder
• 1/2 cup of walnuts
• 3/4 cup of confectionary sugar
• 1/2 cup of butter
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp of salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Mix together the sugar, butter and almond extract.
3. Add the egg, flour, and baking powder.
4. Add the crushed strawberries.
5. Add the walnuts.
6. Mix well in an electric blender.
7. Place tablespoon-size scoops of dough onto a baking sheet
8. Place dough in a 375-degree oven for 13 minutes.
Makes: 2 1/2 dozen cookies
